8.4.31 Cross-Level Drive Belt [12574520]

Part Location:
The cross-level drive belt connects the cross-level pulley with the cross-level motor.

Procedure:
1.
Turn off power to the antenna.
2.
Cut the two tie-wraps holding the drive belt to the cross-level pulley. Loosen the screw holding the
harness cable clamp to the cross-level pulley.
3.
Loosen the four screws holding the cross-level motor bracket (item 23 of drawing 70909010, page 43) to
the azimuth post.
4.
Slide the motor bracket towards the cross-level pulley.
5.
Slide off the old belt from the cross-level pulley and unhook it from the drive sprocket of the motor.
6.
Place the new drive belt on the motor sprocket.
7.
Stretch the belt over the cross-level pulley.
8.
Push down on the motor bracket and tighten the four screws holding the motor to the azimuth post.
9.
Adjust the tension on the cross-level drive belt (loosen, adjust, tighten the four screws holding the
motor to the azimuth post).

10. Replace the tie-wraps holding the belt to the cross-level pulley. Tighten the screw holding the cable
clamp to the cross-level pulley.
11. Turn on power to the antenna.
Diagnostics After Completing Repairs:
1.
Perform tests of section 5.1, page
2.
Run sunalign and verify that the antenna is tracking the sun properly.
3.
Track a pass and verify that data is received.
