EPLACEMENT
8.4.1 Pedestal Control Unit (PCU) [12574548] [12574549]
[12574548] PCU containing antenna controller only. Servo amplifiers are separate. Used with
antenna 6003L.
[12574549] PCU containing antenna controller and 3 servo amplifiers. Used with antenna 6003AL.
Tools:
3 mm (1/8") flat-blade screwdriver
#2 Phillips screwdriver
Part Location:
The PCU is located on the spindle of the positioner.
6003L: See item 15 of drawing 70909013, page 49, and Figure 8-1A on the following page.
6003AL: See item 15 of drawing 70909049, page 47, and Figure 8-1B on the following page.
Procedure:
1.
Turn off power to the antenna.
2.
Remove the cables attached to the PCU.
3.
Loosen the screws on the PCU that hold it to the spindle and remove the old PCU.
4.
Place the new PCU in position and attach it to the equipment frame.
5.
Reattach the two cables to the PCU and tighten the hold-down screws. NOTE: The high-density
connector pins are very fragile! Carefully push each connector straight onto the PCU.
6.
Turn on power to the antenna.
7.
Enter coefficients N4XXX to N5XXX (see section 8.5.11, page 155) or retrim the level cage (see
section 8.5.12, page 156).
Diagnostics After Completing Repair:
1.
Perform the tests of section 5.1, page 83, and observe the correct operation of the antenna.
