ACKAGING OF
When returning parts to SeaSpace for repair, the following steps should be taken to avoid shipping damage to
the part.
1.
Use the original carton or crate in which the equipment was shipped from SeaSpace.
2.
If the original package is not available, a sturdy container that will protect the equipment must be used.
• The container should have at least 8 cm (3 in.) of cushioning on all sides of the part. It is best not
to use foam "peanuts" as they may shift in transit. Do not use peanuts when packing heavy parts
(>15 kg, 33 lb).
• The container should be strong enough to not break open if it is dropped in shipment.
• The container should be sealed both top and bottom to prevent opening in shipment.
• Any fragile parts must be protected with additional soft material around them.
3.
The shipment should be insured against loss or damage in transit.
