Place a new drive sprocket on the new motor in the same position as on the old motor, and tighten the
sprocket's set-screw.

Place the new motor on the mounting bracket and tighten the four screws.
9.
Hook the motor under the cross-level drive belt and attach the four screws holding the bracket to
the azimuth post.
10. Reattach the motor's cable to the servo amplifier/bracket and tighten the hold-down screws.
11. Tie-wrap the motor cable to the pedestal harness cable.
12. Adjust the tension on the cross-level drive belt (loosen, adjust tension, and tighten the 4 screws holding
the motor bracket to the azimuth post).

13. Turn on power to the antenna.
B. Elevation Drive Motor (Figure 8-3, page 118)
1.
Turn off power to the antenna.
2.
Remove the motor's cable from the servo amplifier/bracket.
3.
Cut the tie-wraps holding the motor's cable to the pedestal harness (braided harness).
4.
Remove the four screws on the elevation motor (item 44 of drawing 70909014, page 44) that hold the
motor to the elevation side pan.
5.
Unhook the elevation drive belt from the motor sprocket and remove the motor.
6.
Note the orientation of the wire harness coming out of the motor.
7.
Place a new drive sprocket on the new motor in the same position as on the old motor, and tighten the
sprocket's set-screw.
8.
Place the new motor on the elevation side pan.
9.
Hook the motor under the elevation drive belt and attach the four screws holding the motor to the
elevation side pan.
10. Reattach the motor's cable to the elevation servo amplifier/bracket and tighten the hold-down screws.
11. Tie-wrap the motor cable to the pedestal harness cable.
12. Adjust the tension on the elevation drive belt (loosen, adjust tension, and tighten the four screws
holding the motor to the elevation side pan). Note the higher tension that is needed on this belt than is
used on other belts.
