5.2.1 Trackeye

To observe the motion of the antenna, the signal strength from the receiver, and the progress of the frame
synchronizer, enter the command:
% trackeye full chain <Return>
The trackeye command should be run from a long 3-line window on the screen.
Display Format (Normal):
yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss.sss azim elev head mo freq #lin S Sig fsync
The meaning of the list fields is as follows:
antenna azimuth command relative to the mounting of the antenna. If the antenna is
azim:
ship-mounted, this angle is relative to the bow of the ship.
elev:
antenna elevation command, absolute, in degrees.
head:
ship heading (if used) in degrees, True North.
mo:
motion of the antenna:
- = no change (antenna is not tracking)
A = antenna is ascending
D = antenna id descending
* = antenna is tracking. No elevation change yet.
(The letter R precedes the motion if autoalign or align is running.
freq:
frequency in MHz of the receiver.
# lin:
number of scan lines acquired in this pass by the frame synchronizer.
s:
bit sync switch data state:
N = Normal
I = Inverted
sig:
signal strength.
fsync:
frame sync status:
SEARCH = searching for start of frame
LOCK = locked to start of frame
Note: To exit trackeye, enter Control-C.
