3.8 Connection Procedures

<USB Connection>
Prepare a USB Cable.
Note!
• The cable of the MFP is not attached. Users should buy seperately.
• Obtain the cable of USB specification by yourself.
• Use the USB cable of Hi-Speed specification in case the connection is to be made
using "HI-Speed" mode of USB2.0.
Preparing cores
Memo
Use the longer one of two kinds cores packed with MFP.
How to attach a core
Memo
Attach a core to the USB cable at the point about 30~40mm away from the
connector part of the printer side, and then close the core to fix it.
Switch off the power of the

Although the USB cable can be connected or removed with the switch of the
computer and printer on, switch off the power of the MFP at this step in order to
ensure installation of the MFP driver and USB driver later.
Connect the

(1) Plug the USB cable into the USB interface connector of the MFP.
(2) Plug the USB cable into the USB interface connector of the computer.
Note! Be careful not to insert the USB cable into the network interface connector.
