Q17. Can I shorten the Antenna coaxial cable?

Antenna coaxial cable uses; 8D-FB-CV: 30/40/50 m or 12D-SFA-CV: 100 m. Although
there is no problem in shortening the cable, if you use a cable longer than the current
one, the reception level will not be guaranteed. Please maintain the coaxial cable loss
below 9 dB at 1.6 GHz.

Q18. Can I use Inmarsat B or Fleet 77 Antenna coaxial cable?

Is the Antenna installation pitch the same?

In order to be able to support replacements, the Antenna coaxial cable can be used
without being changed. In the case of FB-1500-A (equipped with attachment), the
Antenna installation pitch is the same, too.

Q19. Can I also use the conventional analog devices?

Yes, they are. There are two phone modular sockets (RJ-11) and two terminal block
ports.

Q20. Can I establish parallel connection using Analog phone?

You can establish parallel connection for two devices at maximum for each port.

Q21. Are external input signals such as Gyro or GPS required?

No external Heading signals are required to be input.
The Antenna unit has GPS function mounted, and therefore no connection with the
External GPS is required. When the mounted GPS function gets out of order, position
data will not be obtained and therefore communication will not be available. Thus, it is
recommended that you connect with the External GPS just for backup purposes.

There are 4 ports. They are of the PoE (Type-B) specification which is enabled of
automatic switching between 10Base-T/100Base-Tx, and power supply is fully
available.
They are also equipped with the Auto MDI/MDI-X function, and so you can use either
LAN cable; straight type or cross type.

Q23. Can we substitute the LAN cable with a MP-xx cable?

No. You cannot use MP-xx cables.
The guarantee for the LAN cable is provided for the comprehensive system including
the LAN connector (RF-45 jack), and therefore MP-xx cables are not available.
