7.1.5 VRRP

This setting should be implemented by the administrator. The outline of the
procedure will be described here.
*** Note that this function is currently not fully supported. ***
VRRP stands for Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol, and this function is equipped in
the communication unit: FB-2000.
This setting is made by connecting two FELCOM-500s or FELCOM-500 and VSAT via
a LAN and implementing data communication by the equipment with higher priority,
but when a failure occurs for that equipment with higher priority, the other equipment
will automatically take over the communication role. In other words, two equipments
will be operating as a single Virtual Router.
The description provided below is for an example where two FB-2000s are connected
via a LAN.
Two communication units will be connected via a HUB.
Handsets and Incoming indicators are to be connected to the HUB added.
As for the IP address for the Proxy server of the Handset SIP menu, make sure to
set the Own IP address for the Communication unit which is to be used for the
communication.
Connect the analog phone / FAX to TEL1-4 ports for each Communication unit.
Make phone calls via the connected Communication unit.
The description below is made with the assumption that the Own IP address for No.1
Communication unit: FB-2000 is 192.168.1.1, the Own IP address for No.2 FB-2000 is
192.168.1.2, and the IP address common for No.1 and No.2 FB-2000 as the Virtual
Router is 192.168.1.3.
