7.1.2 DHCP server

FELCOM-250/500 are equipped with the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol) function, the DHCP will automatically allocate the IP addresses to the
terminals connected to the network in normal cases. In this case, make the setting for
DHCP server to "Use".
By making the setting for DHCP server "Use", you will be able to fix the IP addresses
for specific network terminals.
For example, if you wish to capture System Log into your PC, you will need to specify
the IP address for the PC, you wish to forward the System Log to via; Log -> System
log menu.
If the IP addresses are allocated automatically, you will need to set the IP address for the
target PC every time the IP address is changed. In such case, allocate a Static IP address.
The setting for this case will be made via the Lease information menu.

1. DHCP server: Use, Unuse

FELCOM-250/500 are equipped with the DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol) server function, and therefore, the IP addresses are automatically allocated by
DHCP to the terminals connected to the LAN in normal cases. You can also allocate the
DNS server IP addresses and Default gateway IP addresses, too.
In this case, make the setting for DHCP server to "Use". When the setting is made to
Use, the IP addresses available to be allocated are those specified by "From" and "To",
within the range of 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.254.
When this is set to "Unuse", network settings will be required for each device (client).
The IP addresses displayed in the Automatic and Manual field for Lease information
are invalid.
