You need to download the configuration onto disk. The procedure for
downloading varies depending on the type of software used to access
the router, but you must use the XMODEM protocol to perform the
download.
Restore Configuration
Selecting option 6 from Menu 24—Maintenance will restore a backup
configuration from disk to the Your IRT-1001 or IRT-1002. You need to
upload a backup file to the router. The procedure for uploading varies
depending on the type of software used to access the router, but you
must use the XMODEM protocol to restore the configuration.
Keep in mind that configuration is stored in flash ROM, so even if a
power failure occurs, your configuration is safe.
Software Update
Software updates are possible only through an RS-232 cable
connection. You cannot use telnet to update the Your IRT-1001 or
IRT-1002's software. Note that this function will delete the old software
before installing the new software. Do not attempt to utilize this menu
unless you have the new software version. There are two different
software updates: RAS code and ISDN code.
♦ RAS and ISDN code update—Type atur and wait until the Your
IRT-1001 or IRT-1002 responds with an OK to begin uploading
the new software (upload procedure varies depending on the type
of software used to access the router). You must use the
XMODEM protocol to perform the upload. After the upload ends,
type atgo to start the router. Below is an example of downloading
RAS and ISDN.
