(2) Toner replenishing control
• The Sub Hopper Solenoid is energized and kept so for the period of the toner replenish-
ing time (amount) established through the toner replenishing amount control.
The Sub Hopper is thus energized to replenish the supply of toner to the Developing
Unit.
• As toner level in the Sub Hopper becomes low, the Sub Hopper Solenoid is energized so
that toner may be supplied to the Sub Hopper.
• The corrected T/C is compared with the target T/C to determine if T/C is more or less
than a predetermined value. If either is detected, a faulty ATDC (TCR) Sensor results
and a Tech. Rep. call display is given.

C. T/C recovery mode
• A T/C recovery sequence is performed if the T/C ratio detected through toner density
detection is extremely low.
• When the machine is set into the T/C recovery mode, the IU Motor is energized to per-
form the toner replenishing sequence until the correct T/C is recovered.
(1) Operation timing
• A predetermined T/C ratio is detected in toner replenishing control.
• A T/C ratio more or less than the predetermined value is detected with neither a toner
near-empty nor toner empty display given.
• The T/C recovery conditions corresponding to each operating mode are met.
