Operation

7.3.1

Scan and Exposure Lamp control

A. When the Main and Auxiliary Power Switches are ON
• When both the Main Power Switch and Auxiliary Power Switch are ON, the Exposure
Unit remains stationary at its home position (shading position).
B. When the Start key is pressed
1. Turning the START key ON will turn the Exposure Lamp ON.
2. A shading correction is made. (The Exposure Unit remains stationary at its home
position (shading position).)
3. The Exposure Unit moves from the shading position to the image leading edge
position (by moving in the scan direction).
4. The Exposure Unit will move from the front edge to the back edge of the image to
scan.
The exposure unit will start reading the original image from the front edge.
The unit will finish reading the image at the back edge of the image.
5. The Exposure Lamp will be OFF when the reading is complete.
The Scanner Cooling Fan Motor (M202) will stop.
6. The exposure unit will move from the home position to the front edge of the image
in scanning direction and stop.
