Theory of Operation Ver. 2.5 Jul. 2006
B. When life is reached
• The following three counters available from the Tech. Rep. mode are used to detect the
life of the Photo Conductor and IU.
(1) PC Life Counter
• Detects the period of time through which the Photo Conductor has been rotated as life.
• When the PC Life Counter reaches 100 %, a message that prompts the user to replace
the Photo Conductor Unit will appear.
(2) I/C Life Counter
• Counts the number of printed pages produced according to the length of paper.
(3) Developer
• Counts the number of times the developer has been changed.
• Clearing the PC Life Counter increments the Developer counter by one.
• If the PC lifetime has been reached with the Developer counter reads 3 or more, the user
is prompted to replace the IU with a new one by a message.
