• Light reflected off the surface of the original is converted to a corre-
sponding electric signal by CCD and the resultant electric signal is
sent to the MFBS Board.
• MFBS Board performs image processing.
• The image of the original projected onto the surface of the PC Drum is
changed to a corresponding electrostatic latent image.
• Supply DC ( - ) charge on the PC Drum.
• Expose photo conductor to a laser beam to develop electrostatic latent
image.
• The toner, agitated and negatively charged in the Developer Mixing
Chamber, is attracted onto the electrostatic latent image formed on
the surface of the PC Drum. It is thereby changed to a visible, devel-
oped image.
• Paper is supplied from the paper feed cassette.
• Paper is supplied from the bypass paper feed tray.
• A DC positive charge is applied to the Image Transfer Roller to transfer
the visible image on the surface of the PC Drum onto the paper.
• The PC Drum Paper Separator Fingers remove paper from the sur-
face of the PC Drum.
• The residual toner left on the surface of the PC Drum is scraped off.
• The surface of the PC Drum is irradiated with light, which neutralizes
any surface potential remaining on the surface of the PC Drum.
• Toner is permanently fused to the paper by the combination of heat
and pressure applied by the Fusing Roller.
• The paper is fed out face down onto the Exit Tray.
