C. Function
(1) CCD driver circuit
• Necessary blocks are formed for the CCD drive with a built-in ESP3 LSI.
(2) CCD output image process circuit
<Analog process circuit>
• It performs black label play, gain adjustments and dual mixing after S/H for 2 image sig-
nals input from the CCDS board (corrects the level for 2 CCD image signals and converts
1 image signal) then outputs to an A/D converter.
<A/D converter>
• It converts analog signals output from the CXA2045Q to 8-bit digital parallel signals per
pixel then outputs to the ESP3 LSI.
<Binary image process circuit>
• It has a built-in ESP3 LSI. It normalizes (shading correction) the 8-bit image signal input
from the A/D converter and performs high quality image processing (gamma correction,
dither, error dispersion). The image signal processed by performing image enlargement,
reduction and white master processing is converted to serial data.
<Motor control circuit>
• It has a built-in ESP3 LSI. It outputs signals for controlling the Book scanner and EDH
scanner motors, excitation pattern controls and current controls.
<Sensor I/F circuit>
• It has a built-in ESP3 LSI. Sensor data from the EDH (document size, document edge
position, cover switch, etc.) are input. It also has a chatter removal circuit for the signal
from the sensor.
<EDH I/F>
• It has a built-in ESP3 LSI. It transmits commands to the EDH and receives the status.
