c. Install the new V-belt.
TIP:

Install the V-belt so that its arrow faces the
direction shown in the illustration.
d. Remove the bolts.

CHECKING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM
The following procedure applies to all of the
exhaust pipe gaskets.
1. Check:
• exhaust pipe 2 1
• exhaust pipe 1 2
• muffler 3
• muffler brackets 4
• springs 5
Cracks/damage → Replace.
• gaskets 6
Exhaust gas leaks → Replace.
2. Check:
• tightening torques
Exhaust pipe nut 7
20 Nm (2.0 m · kg, 14 ft · lb)
Muffler and muffler bracket bolt 8
20 Nm (2.0 m · kg, 14 ft · lb)
Muffler bracket and frame bolt 9
30 Nm (3.0 m · kg, 22 ft · lb)
