It is decided by the area root node of an instance in the MST
area and decreases by 1 after each switch. When it decreases
to 0 the BPDU packet is invalid. Message-age and max-age
values of the BPDU packet in the MST area do not change dur-
ing area transmission.
To configure STP protocol parameters , use the following com-
mands.
spanning-tree hello-time<time>
spanning-tree forward-delay<time>
spanning-tree max-age<time>
spanning-tree mst max-hops<hop>
Note:
In CST structure, hello-time of every switch is determined by the
root of switch. Max-hops takes effect only when this node serves
as the area root node of an instance in the MST area.

Creating Instances

In MSTP mode, users can turn connected switches into an MST
area by creating or deleting instances. Implementing fast aggre-
gation and load balance of the whole network.
spanning-tree mst configuration
instance <instance> vlans

This set Hello time of STP.
This sets the forward delay
time of STP.
This sets the maximum time
of BPDU packet.
This sets the maximum hops
of BPDU packet.
Function
This enters MST configuration
mode.
This creates an instance.
