Chapter 6: Managing Displays

Displaying Caller Information

This chapter provides information on the messages that appear on the screens of display
telephones.
Your system uses automatic incoming call display to provide information about incoming calls to
a display telephone that is in use, or active on a call. The information is displayed for 30
seconds on all phones except for CALLMASTER phones, where the display goes blank after 30
seconds. However, the information for each new call overrides the existing message.
Call information appears on the display only if the call terminates at the telephone. For example,
if the call is forwarded to another extension, no call information appears.
For more information on the buttons and languages you can set up for the messages that
appear on the display, see the "Telephone Displays" feature description in the Feature
Description and Implementation for Avaya Communication Manager, 555-245-505.

Displaying ANI Calling Party Information

Calling party information may consist of either a billing number that sometimes is referred to as
Automatic Number Identification (ANI), or a calling party number. Your telephone may display
the calling party number and name, or the incoming trunk group name.
Instructions
We will set up tie trunk group 10 to receive calling party information and display the calling party
number on the telephone of the person called.
1. Type change trunk group 10.
The Trunk Group screen for trunk group 10 appears.
