Printing a Confidential Message

When your machine has received a
confidential message, the Confiden-
tial File (i) indicator lights.This fea-
t u r e i s d e s i g n e d t o p r e v e n t
unauthorized users from reading
your messages. If someone sends you
a message using Confidential Trans-
mission, it is stored in memory and

not automatically printed. To print
the message, you have to enter the
Confidential ID code.
Preparation
Program your Confidential ID in
advance. ⇒ p.169 "Programming a
Confidential ID"
Important
❒ If the Main Power switch is off
more than an hour, all Confiden-
tial Files are deleted. In that case,
use the Power Failure Report to
identify which messages have
been deleted. ⇒ p.184 "When
Power is Turned Off or Fails"
Limitation
❒ You must program the Confiden-
tial ID for Confidential Reception
to work.

Confirm that the Confidential
File indicator is lit.

Press [Information].
The Information menu is shown.

Select [Print Confidential RX File].

Enter a four digit Confidential ID
with the number keys.
The Confidential ID to be entered
is different depending on the
transmission method at the other
end.
• You must enter the Confidential
ID programmed in this machine
when the received file has no in
Confidential ID (Default ID).
