CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES
Lubricate the VTEC side valve stem sliding surface with
molybdenum oil solution,
lnsert the valve [1] into the valve guide while turning
it
slowly to avoid damage to the stem
seal.
lnstall the
VTEC side
inner valve
springs [2]
with
the
tightly wound coils facing the
combustion-chimber
side.
lnstall the valve
spring
retainer
[3].
Grease the
cotters
lnstall the
vrEC
side valve cotters
using the
special
to
ease
installation. tool
as shown.
NOTICE
To
prevent /oss
of
tension, do not compress
the
valve
spring more
than necessary.

Support the cylinder
head above the
work bench surface
to
prevent
possible
valve damage.
Tap the VTEC side valve stems gently with
a
hammer
[1] and shaft
[2]
as shown to
firmly
seat the
cotters.
lnstall the following:
-
spark plugs (page 3-6)
-
insulators (page 7-16)
-
ECT sensor (front cylinder head) (page 4-44)
