LUBRICATION SYSTEM
OIL COOLER
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
NOTE:
.
Take care
not
to
damage
the oil
cooler
fins
while
servicing.
Drain the engine oil (page 3-'l
1).
Remove
the headlight assembly (page 20-5).
Remove
the four bolts [1] and disconnect the oil pipes
t2t.
Remove
the
O-rings
[3]
from the
oil pipes.
Remove the two
washer-bolts
[4] and oil cooler
[5].
Remove the following:
-
bolt
[1]
-
hose stay [2] (left pipe only)
-
hose
joint
[3]
-
O-rings
[4]
Release the oil pipe from the pipe guide [5] and
remove
it.
lnstallation is
in
the reverse order of removal.
NOTE;
.
Replace the O-rings with new ones and coat
them
with engine
oil.
Fill the
engine with
the
recommended engine
oil
and
check that there are no oil leaks (page
3-1 1).
INSPECTION
Check
the oil
cooler
air
passage
for
clogging
or
damage.
Straighten
bent
fins with a small, flat
blade screwdriver
and
remove
insects, mud,
or
other
obstructions with
compressed air or low pressure water.
