5.3.3 P_THICK sensor fixing bracket adjustment

The following adjustment with the self-diagnostic function is performed for completed
operations related to replacement of P_Thick Sensor or removal the sensor installation
bracket.
Standard:
0.6mm: Standard paper determination
0.7mm: Thick paper determination
Adjustment procedure
1.
Start the self-diagnostic mode and set "Test: Sensor" - "Paper Thickness".
2.
Pinch the long side of the paper thickness gauge in the right end detection roller
and adjust the position of the sensor installation bracket so that gauge thickness of
0.6mm is displayed for "STD" and 0.7mm is displayed for "Thick Paper".

5.3.4 Cutter position adjustment

The following adjustment is performed for completed operations related to
replacement or installation of Sub-Platen/Cutter Holder/Cutter Solenoid.
Standard: Gap between the blade and Sub_Platen should be 0.3 to 0.7 mm.
Quality Check: With the battery disconnected, set a piece of A4 size paper at the start
point (right end sub-platen) and opposite start point (left end sub-
platen) and check that the cutting operation (done manually) is
performed correctly.
Adjustment procedure
1.
Release the carriage lock, then manually move the printhead from the home
position to above the sub-platen.
2.
Loosen the sub-platen screws (2 screws x 5 platens) and cutter holder screws (2).
3.
Set the "L Type Adjusting Tool" on the sub-platen as shown in Figure 5-4, then
move the cutter holder to the position where it contacts the adjusting tool right
side.
4.
Adjust the position between the sub-platen and cutter holder to the position where
the adjustment tool contacts the cutter holder.
5.
Align all 5 sub-platens.
6.
Visually check bi-directional identical positions for level difference locations of
each sub-platen.
