Initialization

This section describes the guidelines applicable for accessing the Nortel
KBD feature. Before using the Nortel KBD feature, ensure that the
following steps have been performed:

Implementing the P66 command

The P66 key allows the user the flexibility of issuing Hayes commands
while in Nortel KBD or exiting Nortel KBD and entering Hayes keyboard
dialing.
The P66 command contains the initial screen and four scrolling screens that
enables the user to select which type of modem the MCA can emulate. The
product code with respect to each is automatically set up. Unless otherwise
requested, the screens are presented on the set's display as shown in Table
8-2.
Note: The P in the following table represents the Program key.

Turn the data terminal power on.
Set the data terminal on-line.
Ensure that power is connected to the telephone set.
Ensure that the light-emitting diode (LED) on the back of the MCA is
flashing at a constant rate to indicate that the MCA is functioning
properly. (See Figure 8-1.)
