Clamp the fork leg with the axle clamp.

Remove rebound adjuster
Remove the cartridge.

Remove fork protector ring G).

The fork protector ring does not necessarily need
to be removed for repair work.
Remove lock ring@.

The lock ring has a beveled end where a screw­
driver can be applied.
Warm up the outside fork tube in area
sliding bushing.
