Extending/retracting the seat belt extender
The seat belt extender for the front seat helps
you fasten your seat belt. When the door is
closed, the seat belt extender extends.
You can also extend the seat belt extender using
the seat belt extender button.
Switch the ignition on.

Press seat belt extender button 1.
#
The seat belt extender extends.
The seat belt extender retracts again in the fol‐
lowing cases:
the seat belt tongue is engaged in the seat

belt buckle
Occupant safety
the seat belt tongue is not engaged in the

seat belt buckle within 60 seconds
If you press seat belt extender button
again in this case, the seat belt extender will
extend again.
Open the respective door.

Fold the seat backrest forwards.

The front passenger side remains unoccu‐

pied.
If you press seat belt extender button
again in this case, the seat belt extender will
no longer extend.
The seat belt extender must always be retracted
while the vehicle is in motion.
Fastening seat belts
If the seat belt is pulled quickly or sharply, the
seat belt retractor locks. The seat belt strap can‐
not be pulled out any further.
