Troubleshooting
Possible Cause
Faulty ignition (key) switch or
wiring.
Traction neutral switch circuit open.
Short circuit or open circuit
between controller and start relay.
Start relay faulty.
Wiring between start relay and
starter faulty.
Start solenoid faulty.

Run solenoid out of adjustment.
Run solenoid faulty.
Run solenoid wiring faulty.
Faulty high engine water
temperature shut-down switch
(engine not overheated) or wiring.

Engine not cranking fast enough.
Run solenoid out of adjustment
Faulty run solenoid.
Problem is not electrical.

Traction neutral switch circuit
closed.

Test switch and replace if faulty.
