8. If the lift cylinder allows the cutting deck to lower too quickly, replace or
repair the lift cylinder; refer to
Lift Cylinder (page
9. Once the lift cylinder condition is determined, use a jack to raise lift arm
slightly which removes the load from the lift cylinder.
10. Support the lift arm with jack stands to prevent it from lowering.
11. Remove the cap from the cylinder fitting and the plug from the hydraulic hose.
12. Connect the hydraulic hose to the lift cylinder fitting.
13. Carefully remove the jack from under the lift arm. Start the engine and
operate the lift cylinders through several up and down cycles. Shut off the
engine and check for any leakage.
14. If necessary, repeat the steps
15. Check and fill the hydraulic tank with the correct quantity of new hydraulic
fluid before returning the machine to service.
