Starting aid
To remove and to fit a fuelled starting aid
Operation 14-9
To remove
1 Disconnect the fuel pipe (A1) and the electrical connection (A2).
2 Remove the starting aid.
To fit
1 Ensure that the contact faces of the manifold and the starting aid are clean. Put the sealing washer into
position and fit the starting aid. Tighten the starting aid to 31 Nm (23 lbf ft) 3,2 kgf m.
2 Check the fuel pipe and, if it is still full of fuel, connect it to the starting aid. If the fuel has drained from the
pipe, eliminate the air from the pipe as follows:
Loosen the fuel pipe connection at the fuelled starting aid.
Operate the priming lever of the fuel lift pump until fuel, free of air, comes from the pipe connection.
Tighten the connection.
3 Connect the electrical connection (A2).
