Motor Module and Braking Module units can be connected to the Basic Line Module via the
DC bus.

Design of the Motor Module
The Motor Module comprises three phases. Each phase consists of 3 PowerCards in
configuration N=1 and five PowerCards in configuration N=2. For each configuration, a
PowerCard is equipped with neutral-point diodes. The other PowerCards are fitted with gate
turn-off power semiconductors (IGBT modules). Each PowerCard comprises a heat sink with
2 neutral-point diodes or 2 IGBT power semiconductors.
The IGBTs can limit and disconnect a short-circuit current. This means that a short-circuit
generally only results in the drive stopping, and damage to the device is avoided.
