P0340-NO CAM SIGNAL AT PCM —
TEST

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the CMP Sensor harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the (K44) CMP Sensor Signal circuit in the CMP Sensor
harness connector.
Is the voltage above 5.0 volts?
Yes → Repair the short to battery voltage in the (K44) CMP Sensor
→ Go To 12
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the CMP Sensor harness connector.
Measure the resistance between the (K44) CMP Sensor Signal circuit and the (K7)
8-volt Supply circuit in the CMP Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the short between the (K7) 8-volt Supply circuit and the
→ Go To 13
No

If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the CMP Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (K7) 8-volt Supply circuit in the CMP Sensor harness
connector to ground.
Is the resistance below 100 ohms?
Yes → Repair the short to ground in the (K7) 8-volt Supply circuit.
→ Go To 15
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the CMP Sensor harness connector.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the (K7) 8-volt Supply circuit between the CMP Sensor
harness connector and the PCM harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 16
→ Repair the open in the (K7) 8-volt Supply circuit.
No
ACTION
Signal circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
(K44) CMP Sensor Signal circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module in accor-
dance with the Service Information.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
