Jib Boom Components

Use a soft metal drift to remove the pin and let
the cylinder hang down.
Crushing hazard. The jib boom
could fall when the barrel-end
pivot pin is removed if not
properly supported by the
overhead crane.

Secure the jib boom bellcrank to prevent it
from moving.

Remove the hose and cable clamp from the jib
boom pivot pin.
10 Remove the pin retaining fastener from the jib
boom pivot pin. Do not remove the pin.
11 Place blocks under the platform leveling
cylinder for support. Protect the cylinder from
damage.
12 Use a soft metal drift to remove the pin.
Carefully remove the jib boom from the primary
boom.
Crushing hazard. The jib boom
may become unbalanced and fall
when it is removed from the
machine if it is not properly
supported by the overhead
crane.
13 Remove the pin retaining fasteners from the jib
boom lift cylinder rod-end pivot pin. Do not
remove the pin.
14 Slide both of the jib boom leveling arms off of
the jib boom cylinder rod-end pivot pin and lay
them off to the side.

15 Attach a lifting strap from an overhead crane to
the lug on the rod end of the jib boom lift
cylinder.
16 Attach a lifting strap from a second overhead
crane to the jib boom bellcrank.
17 Use a soft metal drift to remove the jib boom lift
cylinder rod-end pivot pin. Remove the jib
boom lift cylinder and jib boom bellcrank from
the machine.
Crushing hazard. The jib boom
lift cylinder and jib boom
bellcrank could become
unbalanced and fall if not
properly supported when they
are removed from the machine.
Crushing hazard. The platform
leveling cylinder may fall if not
supported when the rod-end
pivot pin is removed.
