HYDRAULIC BRAKE
Remove the 6 mm nut [1], rear brake reservoir
mounting bolt [2] and reservoir [3].
Install the diaphragm [4], set plate [5] and reservoir
cover [6].
Install and tighten the cover screws [7] to the specified
torque.
TORQUE: 1.5 N·m (0.2 kgf·m, 1.1 lbf·ft)
Install the reservoir and rear brake reservoir mounting
bolt.
Align the reservoir tab [8] with the reservoir stay upper
hole [9].
Tighten the bolt to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7 lbf·ft)

FRONT BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT
(NC700X/S)
• Always replace the brake pads in pairs to assure
even disc pressure.
• Check the brake fluid level in the brake master
cylinder reservoir as this operation causes the level
to rise.
Remove the brake pad pin [1] and brake pads [2].
Do not operate the brake lever after removing the brake
pads.
Install new brake pads to the brake caliper so their ends
seat against the retainer.
Make sure that the retainer and pad spring are installed
to the brake caliper.
Check that the brake pad pin stopper ring [3] is in good
condition, replace if necessary.
Apply silicone grease to the brake pad pin stopper ring
and install it to the brake pad pin groove.
Install the brake pad pin by pushing the pads against
the pad spring to align the brake pad pin holes in the
pads and brake caliper.
Tighten the brake pad pin to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 17 N·m (1.7 kgf·m, 13 lbf·ft)
Operate the brake lever to seat the caliper piston
against the pads.
