When you press
sequence continues.
If an error is detected during the POST, a beep (beep code) sounds
or a message is displayed. Refer to "Error check" on page 109 for
more information.

Turning off the server

Always operate the shutdown function before turning off the
server. If you fail to do this, the server may not restart correctly.
Normal shutdown

Shut down the operating system. For instructions, refer to the
user's guide provided with the operating system software.

Press the Power button.
Abnormal system shutdown
If the server fails to shut down normally, you can forcibly stop it,
but data will be lost.
To perform a forced system shut down, simultaneously press the
Power and Reset buttons.

System startup

You can start the server from the hard disk drive, floppy disk drive,
or CD-ROM drive.
