Set the electrodes (+/-) of the battery properly. Otherwise you
risk causing heat, an explosion, or a fire.
To ensure proper system operation, replace the battery with
one of the same type.
Replacing the battery
TECHNICAL NOTE: Removing the battery will cause the
system's configuration information to be lost. Before
removing the battery, write down your server's configuration
data for later re-entry.

Remove the bezel and the side panel of the server. For
instructions, see "Removing and installing the bezel and side
panel" on page 24.
If any expansion cards are obstructing access to the battery,

remove the card(s) according to the removal procedures in
this guide. Refer to "Expansion cards" on page 58 in
Chapter 2.
Check the battery position and push the eject lever in the

direction of the arrow until you can remove the battery.
