5. Insert the distribution tape in the DAT machine and make sure it is rewound
to the beginning.
6. Type:
dd if=/dev/datlink0 bs=64512 of=/tmp/dldist count=50
play
7. Press
on the DAT machine within a few seconds of executing the
command.
Within about 25 seconds of pressing play, the
message:
50+0 records in
50+0 records out
If you do not see the above message, or see an error message during the loading
process, stop the tape and repeat the above steps. If the error persists refer to
Section A.3 in the Appendices to troubleshoot the problem.
Once the
command has completed, you can stop the tape and begin the instal-
dd
lation procedure by executing the command:
/bin/sh /tmp/dldist
You should then see the message:
DAT-Link Source Installation
----------------------------
which will be followed after a few seconds by:
Finished extracting sources.
Setting up sources...
The source les will be extracted into you current directory and you will then be
prompted for various con guration options as described in the section 2.6.2 below.
