Dark-field Microscopy under the Epi Illumination

Attach the accessories required for the dark-field microscopy under the epi

illumination.
The following accessories must be attached to perform the dark-field microscopy under the epi
illumination.
• BD objective (See Page 93.)
* Set up the microscope according to the "LVSetup" and set information of objectives correctly.
Focus on the specimen with the bright-field microscopy under the epi illumination.

Set the microscope for the dark-field

microscopy under the epi illumination.
1 Press the CUBE switch on the operation panel
and light up the "DF (dark-field)" position of the
microscopy method indicator. (See Page 37.)
The episcopic illumination lamp is turned on
with the predetermined brightness by the
interlock control function, and the aperture
diaphragm and the field diaphragm are fully
opened. (However, the position of the field
diaphragm open/close lever is not changed.)
2 Operate the EPI brightness switch on the
operation panel to adjust the brightness of the
episcopic illumination.(See Page 42.)
To turn on and turn off the illumination, use the
EPI switch.
3 Adjust the brightness with ND filters. (See Page 44.)
Return to the bright-field microscopy under the

epi illumination.
1 Press the CUBE switch on the operation panel
and light up the "BF (bright-field)" position of
the microscopy method indicator. (See Page 37.)
The episcopic illumination lamp is turned on with
the predetermined brightness by the interlock
control function, and the aperture diaphragm and
the field diaphragm automatically return to the
previous positions. (The field diaphragm open/
close lever position does not change.)
2 Operate the EPI brightness switch on the
operation panel to adjust the brightness of the
episcopic illumination. (See Page 42)
To turn on and off the illumination, use the EPI switch.
3 Adjust the brightness with ND filters. (See Page 44.)
