v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem
is solved.
v See Chapter 4, "Parts listing, System x3250 M3 Types 4251, 4252, and 4261," on page 119 to determine
which components are customer replaceable units (CRU) and which components are field replaceable
units (FRU).
v If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must be performed only by a
trained service technician.

only) Remove the affected
microprocessor and check the
microprocessor socket pins for
any damaged pins. If a
damage is found, replace the
system board (see "Removing
the system board" on page
190 and "Installing the system
board" on page 191).
7. (Trained service technician
only) If the problem is related
to microprocessor socket pins,
replace the system board (see
"Removing the system board"
on page 190 and "Installing
the system board" on page
191).
8. (Trained Service technician
only) Replace the affected
microprocessor (see
"Removing the
microprocessor" on page 185
and "Installing the
microprocessor" on page 186).
a. Make sure that the fans are
operating, that there are no
obstructions to the airflow, that
the air baffles are in place and
correctly installed, and that the
server cover is installed and
completely closed.
b. If a fan has failed, complete
the action for a fan failure.
c. Replace DIMM n.
