Repeat steps 2 and 3 until print results are im‐
proved in the range up to a setting value of 5.
If changing Media Tension does not resolve the
problem, return the Media Tension setting to
default and perform the following measure.
• When using SC-S30600 series
1)
Set the setting value to 40.

problem, return the Media Tension setting to
default and perform the following measure.

Checking that the media is loaded correctly in the
auto take-up reel unit
If the method to attach the media to the take up
roll core or the method to attach the
counterweights is inappropriate, media may
move around during take-up, which may cause
wrinkles and raised sections.
Check if the following actions were performed
correctly: attachment of media on the auto
take-up reel unit and attachment of
counterweights.

If the measures above do not resolve the problem,
perform the following measure.

Adjusting Media Suction
Media may rise because the media suction is
weak.
Adjust Media Suction in the following manner.
1)
Set the setting value to 10 temporarily.

2)
Print and check if creasing is improved.
If the creasing of media has improved, media
suction was too low.
3)
While gradually lowering the Media Suction
setting, repeat test printing until the optimal
state is reached.

If these options are not correctly adjusted for the
current media, the media may be creased or torn
during printing.

Are the heaters set too high?

Adjust heater temperature to suit the media.
Try selecting Off for Tension Measurement in

the setup menus.
Automatic tensioning may fail to maintain some types
of media at the appropriate tension, resulting in
excessive slack or other tensioning problems that
interfere with printing.

Is media curled, folded, curved, creased, or

waved?
Cut and remove the curled, folded, curved, creased, or
waved part.

Is media loaded just before printing?

The pressure rollers may crease media left in the
printer, or the media may also become wavy or curled.
