6) Make the following selections in service mode:
COPIER>TEST>NETWORK>PING; then, enter the loop back address*
(127.0.0.1), and press the OK key and then the Start key.
• If 'NG' is indicated, the machine has a problem with the TCP/IP set
tings; go back to step 3), and check the settings.
• If 'OK' is indicated, the machine's TCP/IP settings may be considered
to be free of a problem. However, the connection of the network inter
face board (NIC) or the NIC itself may have a problem. Go to step 7) to
make a check.
*The address will be returned before it reaches the NIC, allowing a check
on the machine's TCP/IP settings.
7) Make the following selections in service mode:
COPIER>TEST>NETWORK>PING; then, enter the local host address
(i.e., the machine's IP address), and press the OK key.
• If 'NG' is indicated, the NIC connection or the NIC itself is faulty.
Check the NIC connection or replace the NIC.
• If 'OK' is indicated, the machine's network settings and NIC may be
considered to be free of problems. However, the environment of the user
network may be faulty. Report to the system administrator, and ask for
correction.
