CAMSHAFT REMOVAL

1. Cam shaft sprocket bolts.
2. Cam shaft sprocket and tim ing chain. The sprocket
is a light interference fit on the cam shaft. Tap the
sprocket on its lower edge to loosen it.
3. Screws (88) and thrust plate (87).
4. Camshaft.
• Install two or three 5/ie-18 inch bolts 100-125
mm (4-5 in c h e s ) long into the c a m s h a ft
threaded holes. Use these bolts to handle the
cam shaft (figure 8).
• Pull the cam shaft from the block. Use care to
prevent dam age to the cam shaft bearings.
