CRANKSHAFT REAR OIL SEAL
REMOVAL (WITHOUT REMOVING

NOTICE: Care m u s t be taken n o t to dam age th e

p ry tool.
1. Rear crankshaft oil seal.
• Pry the seal out with a screwdriver. Take care
not to scratch the crankshaft.

Tool Required:
J 8080 Main Bearing Rem over/Installer
Main bearing caps (124 and 126).
• C heck the main bearing caps for location
markings. Mark the caps if necessary. The
caps m u st be re tu rn e d to th e ir o rig in a l
locations during assembly.
2 Lower main bearing inserts (86) from the main
.
bearing caps.
Upper main bearing inserts (86).
• Insert J 8080 into the crankshaft oil hole.
• Rotate the crankshaft to " turn" the bearing out
of the block.
CAMSHAFT REMOVAL

• Turn the cam shaft (108) until the bolts (103) are
visible through the holes in the cam shaft gear (104).
1. Bolts (103).
2. Cam shaft (108). Pull the cam shaft out of the block.
Support the cam shaft carefully when removing
to prevent damage to the cam shaft bearings.
