T o reinstall a door glass, reverse the operations
outlined i n N o t e 12, for removal of door window
glass.
W h e n installing the garnish moulding, it is
necessary to work the lip or flange of the ventilator
weather strip out over the garnish moulding. I n
order to do this without damaging the weather
strip or the moulding, a heavy string or cord
should be used as shown i n Plate 4, F i g . 13.
T h e string should be knotted at each end a n d
then wrapped around the weather strip inside of
the flange close to the retainer.
T h e garnish
moulding is next installed and pressed
firmly
against the weather strip.
W i t h the m o u l d i n g
held i n this position, the string is pulled out, p u l l -
ing the flange out over the garnish moulding w i t h
it.
T h e string should be removed gently; other-
wise the weather strip may be damaged.

In the event that the rear door glass of series
37-50 a n d 60 cars "works d o w n " when the car is
in motion, the remedy for correcting this condi-
tion is to increase the tension of the regulator
spring.
This tension may be increased by changing the
position of the anchored end of the spring i n the
spindle.
S i m p l y remove the spring and reinstall
it with the anchored end turned
t u r n clockwise.
This will cause the spring t o be wound Yi t u r n
tighter when the outer end is rehooked.
In most cases, the additional Yi t u r n i n the
spring will increase the tension enough to elim-
inate a n y slipping down of the rear door window.
If this does not eliminate the trouble, a second
type regulator should be installed.
T h e y are
available from the Parts D i v i s i o n .
