2. Remove garnish moulding.
N o t e : O n some cars garnish m o u l d i n g is h e l d
i n place b y same screws as r u n channel.
O n others, the garnish m o u l d i n g snaps
i n t o place w i t h s p r i n g clips t h a t c a n be
p r y e d o u t of w i n d o w opening at t o p t o
remove.
3. Remove glass run channel.
4. Raise glass all the w a y u p out of window
opening, t i p p i n g top out toward inside to clear
body.
5. U n h o o k glass lower sash channel from end
of the regulator cam.
6. Remove glass from opening.
Installation—reverse
order of above
operations.
O n coupe bodies the rear quarter windows are
stationary a n d replacement is merely a matter of
removing or installing (in reverse order) the glass
assembly i n the following manner:
1. Remove garnish moulding.
N o t e : G a r n i s h m o u l d i n g is h e l d i n place b y
P h i l l i p ' s screws along face o f m o u l d i n g .
2. P u l l the glass and rubber channel out toward
inside of body.
Remember to seal the glass channel i n place
with FS-1039 cement when re-installing the glass.
Series 37-65, 70, 75, 85 and 90—All Fisher and
Fleetwood composite body styles with rear quar-
ter windows have I. C . V . ventilators or stationary
windows which can be removed or installed i n
the following manner:
1. Remove garnish moulding b y taking out
Phillip's screws along face of moulding.
2. Loosen t r i m around window.
3. Remove the retaining screws i n the glass
channel.
4. Loosen outside l i p of rubber channel a n d
remove glass and channel toward inside.
5. Remove channel from o l d glass for installa-
tion o n new, if glass is to be replaced.
N o t e ; I f channel is t o r n o r d a m a g e d i n a n y w a y ,
it s h o u l d be replaced.
The glass is installed i n the reverse order of its
removal, except that the glass channel must be
sealed i n place w i t h FS-1039 cement.
16. Replacement of B a c k Window Glass
The back window glass a n d channel of all 37-
series cars is retained i n place b y the garnish
moulding, installed under pressure.
The procedure
for removing this glass is as
follows:
1. T a k e out rear seat cushion to a v o i d a n y
possibility of damage to it.
2. T a k e out a l l Phillips' screws along face of
molding a n d division bar a n d remove moulding.
3. Loosen rubber channel a n d pull glass and
channel assembly out toward inside of body.
4. Remove channel from o l d glass for installa-
tion o n new, if glass is to be replaced.
N o t e : If channel is t o r n o r d a m a g e d i n a n y
w a y , i t s h o u l d b e replaced.
T o install a back window glass, proceed as
follows:
1. Install channel assembly on glass.
2. Install the glass a n d channel assembly i n
place i n window opening.
3. M a k e sure l i p of rubber channel is even
all around window opening.
4. Seal the glass and channel assembly i n place
w i t h FS-1039 cement.
5. Install garnish moulding, pressing it firmly
in place w i t h T o o l N o . H M B - 1 7 7 while installing
retaining screws.
N o t e : D o n o t exert too m u c h pressure against
glass o r p i l l a r posts when m a k i n g
this
i n s t a l l a t i o n .
17. Replacement of Ventilator Assemblies
Series 37-50 and 60—Procedure
for removal
and installation of I. C . V . ventilators i n series
37-50 and 60 all-steel bodies is as follows:
1. Remove garnish moulding by taking out
retaining screws along top and side edges of door.
2. Remove ventilator control handle a n d door
remote control handle.
3. Loosen door t r i m down about five inches.
4. Remove two screws holding top of ventilator
assembly to door.
5. Remove screw holding bottom of ventilator
assembly to door,
6. Remove four screws holding ventilator regu-
lator to door inner panel.
7. Open ventilator
slightly a n d p r y top of
assembly in.
8. Close ventilator and remove from door.
Reverse order of the above operations will apply
as an installation procedure.
Series 37-65, 70, 75, 85 and 90—The procedure
for removal and installation of I. C . V . v e n t i l -
ators i n the front doors and rear quarter windows
of series 37-65, 70, 75, 85 and 90 composite bodies
is as follows:
1. Remove
garnish
moulding b y removing
screws that hold the upper glass r u n channel i n
place o n doors or b y removing P h i l l i p ' s screws
along moulding o n rear quarter windows.
2. Remove ventilator control handle and, o n
doors, the inside door handles.
(See N o t e 4).
3. Loosen t r i m around window a n d regulator
board.
4. O n front doors, remove filler board at top
of lock board.
5. Remove weather strip from vertical channel
between ventilator a n d window glass.
6. Remove retaining screws i n weather
strip
retainer.
7. Remove ventilator assembly b y pulling out
at top and lifting up to disengage drive shaft from
regulator.
