Unified messaging subscribers can use a RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed reader or podcast client
to receive automatic notification when new messages are received.
The RSS and podcast web feed features are available to any unified messaging subscribers with access
to the Mailbox Manager.
NOTE
RSS feeds are a one way read-only notification method that does not allow
synchronization from the RSS client back to the messaging system. For example,
deleting a message in the RSS client will not remove it from the messaging system.
In order for some RSS clients to work correctly Mailbox Manager must be
accessible from the Internet. In most cases this requires the firewall to be
configured to allow outside access to the messaging system.
