4. Engine stop switch
• Check the engine stop switch for continu-
ity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE SWITCHES".
• Is the engine stop switch OK?
YES

5. Relay unit (fuel injection system relay)
• Remove the relay unit from the wire har-
ness.
• Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 1) and bat-
tery (12 V) to the relay unit terminals as
shown.
Positive battery terminal → black/red 1
Negative battery terminal → blue/red 2
Positive tester probe → brown/black 3
Negative tester probe → red/blue 4

• Does the fuel injection system relay have
continuity between brown and red/blue?
YES
FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
NO
Replace the right
handlebar switch.

Replace the relay
unit.

6. Cylinder #1-injector resistance
• Disconnect the injection sub-wire harness
coupler from the cylinder #1-injector.
• Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 1) to the
cylinder #1-injector terminal as shown.
Positive tester probe → gray 1
Negative tester probe → white 2

• Measure the cylinder #1-injector resis-
tance.
Cylinder #1-injector resistance
14.2 ~ 14.8 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F)
• Is the cylinder #1-injector OK?
YES

Replace the cylinder
#1-injector.
