Paging Microphone and Zoned Fire Microphone Specifics

7.3.1

PTT Button Configuration

The PTT button may be configured just to act as a Push To Talk on zones selected by other buttons, or it
may be configured so that when pressed without a prior zone selection then it acts as an All-Call button
functioning as 'select all zones' available from this microphone. If configured to the latter mode, when the
button is pressed with no zone selection button pressed the announcement will be routed to all outputs,
which have been configured to any zone selection button on that microphone, i.e. the button press has the
same effect as if all zone selection buttons on the microphone have been pre-selected. Subsequently
pressing a zone selection button will remove the zones associated to this button from the All-Call selection.
The PTT button may also be configured to store the last zones selected for paging, and to automatically re-
page the same zones when pressed again with no zone buttons selected.
In order to configure the PTT button proceed as follows.
1. Select Configuration System Router Inputs Mic/Line.
2. Scroll the Mic/Line input list and select the required input:
[I/P #01 – MIC/LINE 01]
Default value: input 1
Possible input: 01 to 04 for VAR4
01 to 12 for VAR12
01 to 20 for VAR20
Note: The input name is shown on the right side of the display. The input name above is the Mic/Line
input 1 default name, however this may have been changed according to each site's
configuration.
3. The configured Mic/Line type is displayed.
The input type may be changed, as described in Section
4. Press the SELECT key to display the next sub-menu.
5. Move to, and select the Buttons menu item.

Note: The 'Buttons' menu item is only available for Paging and Zoned Fire Microphones.
6. Move to, and select the PTT menu item.
[PTT] Zoning
7. Move to, and toggle to the required All Call option in the left field:
[All Call Disabled] Restore Disabled

Disables All-Call mode on the PTT button.

[All Call Enabled]
Enables All-Call mode on the PTT button when pressed with no prior zone selection.
Default value: 'All Call Disabled'
