DVA Input Ambient Noise Sensor (ANS) Configuration

Ambient noise compensation is applied to outputs, however it is possible to configure the ambient noise
compensation to be applied to any particular input routed to an output which has ANS compensation
enabled. See
"12.3 Ambient Noise Sensor (ANS)
This setting may be used to, for instance, ensure that emergency broadcasts are always at maximum volume
level when routed to ANS controlled outputs.
In order to configure the ambient noise compensation proceed as follows.
1.
Select Configuration System Router Inputs ANS.
2.
Scroll the input list and select the required DVA:
[EVAC 1] Enabled
Default value:
local input 1 name
Inputs:
VAR4:
VAR12: Local inputs: 12 Mic/Line inputs + 8 DVAs + 1 music + Mute
VAR20: Local inputs: 20 Mic/Line inputs + 12 DVAs + 1 music + Mute
Note: The input list comprises the names of all Mic/Line inputs, all DVAs, the music input, the mute
input, and the network inputs. The number of inputs varies according to the VAR Router model,
as described above. Not all inputs in the list are relevant for the current configuration. It is
important that the required input name is obtained from the system design documentation.
The input name above is the DVA input 1 default name, however this may have been changed
according to each site's configuration.
Network inputs are only shown when the VAR Router is set for network operation. They are
identified by the 'Net-' prefix.
3.
Move to, and toggle to the required ANS option in the left field:
MIC/LINE 01 [Enabled] Not Tol
[Enabled]
When ANS operation is enabled for an input then this input will be reduced according to the zone's
ANS level when the input is routed to an output which is under ANS control.
This setting is normally used for all microphone inputs.
Note that if the input is ANS 'Enabled', it must be set to ANS 'Not Tolerant'.
[Disabled]
When ANS operation is disabled for an input, then that input is always played at its configured gain,
without any ANS reduction.
This setting is generally only used for background music sources, and for emergency broadcast
inputs, if these are always required to be broadcast at maximum volume.
