MAINTENANCE AND CARE – DICOR Engine Fuel Filter

DICOR FUEL FILTER

The fuel filter for DICOR engines is mounted to the transaxle, behind the radiator
and next to the fuel sedimenter. Change the filter at specified intervals of 10,000
km or 12 months, whichever comes first or more frequently if the quality of diesel
fuel requires as such. Poor fuel economy and sluggish engine performance may
indicate the fuel filter requires replacement. Use the following procedure to
replace the fuel filter:
1.
Stop the vehicle engine and apply the parking brake. Allow several
minutes for the fuel pressure to stabilse.
2.
Place a suitable container under the fuel filter.
3.
Remove the drain plug from the bottom of filter and allow the fuel to
completely drain.

4.
Disconnect the fuel lines from the top of the fuel filter.
5.
Remove the bolts securing the filter mounting bracket to the transaxle.
6.
Fill a new fuel filter with fresh diesel fuel.
7.
Install the new filter and attach to the fuel lines, making sure the inlet and
outlet are connected to the filter at the proper location.
8.
Secure the filter mounting bracket to the transaxle.
9.
Use a hand pump to prime the fuel system before restarting the engine.
10.
Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
Diesel fuel is an Irritant. Wash hands immediately after handling fuel.
