FUSES AND RELAYS

Never replace an open (blown) fuse with a higher-amperage fuse!
Always replace fuses with the recommended amperage. Damage to
the vehicle electrical system or fire will result.
Fuses and relays are utilized to protect the vehicle electrical wiring and electrical
components from damage in the case of overload or short-circuit conditions.
There are fuse panel locations in the vehicle; they are located under the hood,
under the driver's side of the dash panel, and under the front passenger's seat
(when equipped with power windows).
Check fuses first whenever an electrical component in the vehicle stops
functioning. To check the fuse, use the following procedure:
1.
Remove the cover from the fuse box.
2.
Using the fuse panel cover, locate the fuse for the component not
functioning.
3.
Remove the fuse from the fuse panel and inspect. Replace fuses where
the elements are open (blown) with a fuse of the same amperage rating.
Spare fuses are located in the underdash fuse panel box. Always
replace spare fuses when used.
4.
Push the fuse firmly into the correct location on the fuse panel.
5.
Check that all other fuses and relays are installed properly. Replace the
fuse panel cover.
6.
If the fuse blows again, a problem with the circuit wiring or component
likely exists. Take the vehicle an authorised service outlet for repair.
