STARTING & DRIVING – Exterior Inspection
ExTERIOR INSPECTION
Before starting and driving your Indigo, perform an exterior inspection to be
certain the vehicle is safe to drive.
Routine Maintenance
Checking vehicle system fluids such as engine oil level, cooling system coolant,
brake fluid level, and power steering fluid level are part of routine vehicle
maintenance that should be performed on a weekly basis. Refer to "Section 5
- Maintenance" in this manual.
Area Around and Under the Vehicle
4
Check the ground under the vehicle for signs of fluid leaks. Investigate and
repair leaks as necessary. Make sure the area around the vehicle is free from
obstructions such as debris, humans, or animals.
Exterior Glass and Mirrors
Check the exterior vehicle glass and mirrors and clean with glass cleaner as needed.
The glass must be clean to ensure proper visibility while driving the vehicle.
Windshield Wipers and Washer Fluid
Verify the wiper blades are in good condition and raise the bonnet to ensure the
windshield washer reservoir, 1, is full. Add windshield washer solvent as needed.
Refer to the "Section 5 - Maintenance and Care" in this manual for the filling
instructions.
Do not operate the wipers while the windshield is dry. Doing so, may
cause scratches to form in the windshield.
Horn
Verify the horn works properly when the horn button of the steering wheel is
pressed. Use the horn to alert other drivers in sudden emergency situations.
